Over 50 years ago off and beside a back dusty road in North Central Victorian is where i first found my passion in restoration. My family and i lived on a farm in an ex Australian Army Barracks with iron corrugated roof and walls and no insulation. In summer on a 46 degree Celsius day it was around the same temperature inside the house. At night when temperatures dropped the house inside stayed hot. Most nights i slept outside with the mosquitoes and endured the stings. |
..was an annex over my old wooden bed, dragged my bed outside, and covered it over with some of my mother's dining table lace cloth. This solved the mosquito problem. I realized then if you want something done quickly and correctly learn how to do it. The local rubbish tip was an hour's walk away. My father would sometimes drive me over in the old Ford Utility for me to collect things I could fix. When I was around 9 years old I had lots of projects on the go. I made 2 bicycles out of broken parts, and fixed old chairs, tables, cupboards, desks, and whatever I could find. | After leaving school, I studied music and then hairdressing. I became a senior Hairdresser and a hairstyle designer. I also played in bands and music is still a real passion of mine now. As much as I enjoyed my Hairdressing career I was drawn back to restoration work. I then commenced my career in the study of Antiques and furniture which brings me to where I am today. I enjoy talking to people and helping people find a solution to a project. |
